Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The role of the DEI Office is to provide strategic and day-to-day operational leadership on all diversity, equity, and inclusion policies, programs, and practices for the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. It is responsible for cultivating and championing a diverse, equitable and inclusive collegiate environment for faculty, staff, students and patients.
Responsibilities
- Implement the COD’s DEI Strategic Plan
- Provide DEI training and education
- Serve as a consultant on DEI related issues
- Promote diverse and inclusive recruitment, retention, and professional development strategies for faculty, staff, students, and residents
- Coordinate with collegiate committees
- Represent the COD at the university and national level
- Assist with DEI accountability policies, procedures, and reporting
