Clark Stanford, dean of the UI College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics, was awarded the Outstanding Service Award from the Iowa Dental Association (IDA) on May 3.
The award ceremony took place during the IDA President James Larsen’s outgoing President’s Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Coralville, Iowa.
Stanford is a graduate of University of Iowa (BS, 1984; DDS, 1987; Certificate Prosthodontics, 1992 and PhD, 1992) and University of Illinois Chicago (MHA, 2019). He holds the Edwin B. Green Chair at Iowa., and is Dean Emeritus and Distinguished Professor, University of Illinois Chicago (Dean UIC College of Dentistry, 2014-2022). Stanford is a fellow of the ACD, ICD, PFA, ITI, Academy Prosthodontics, and others, and a Diplomate of the Academy of Osseointegration.
He serves as Institute of Medicine of Chicago Treasurer. He is Editor-in-Chief of International Journal Oral Maxillofacial Implants. Dean Stanford serves on NIH/NIDCR Research Council, Institute of Medicine of Chicago Board, NFED Research Council and others. He has published more than 200 research papers, led multiple consensus conferences on medical device design, clinical trials, health disparities, research collaboration and transformations in professional education.
