On Feb. 11, the UI College of Dentistry hosted the 72nd annual meeting of the Iowa Section of the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR). It was a day of celebrating the groundbreaking research done in the college by students, faculty, and staff.
The day was kickstarted by two faculty speakers, Dr. Aline Petrin and Dr. Karin Weber-Gasparoni, who presented research on epigenomic and genomic factors of orofacial cleft and early childhood caries, respectively, and keynote speaker, Dr. Marcelo Araujo, dean of the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, presented his work on using evidence-based research to influence policy.
After the speakers, the group broke away for oral and poster presentations led by student researchers. Attendees were encouraged to explore and discover the different research being done within the college. To view the research day photo gallery, click here.
