Current dental student researchers nominated student research mentors for Mentor of the Year awards. All student researchers voted on the nominations, and recipients of the award receive a plaque, and their name is added to a plaque in the Iowa Institute for Oral Health Research. 

Robert Bowers, assistant professor of family dentistry, was nominated by Olivia Bartholomew and Colton Curtis.

Sukirth Ganesan, assistant professor of periodontics, was nominated by Arshi Munjal.

Aline Petrin, assistant professor of orthodontics, was nominated by Mandi Seaberg.
