At the 2023 American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) Annual Session in Chicago, our second-year residents Drs. Fuad Farah, Daniel Wright, Cameron Geyer, Clara Wood, and Maddie Daily continued our tradition!  

Judges rank the treatment cases based on treatment planning and execution, quality of the records, case write-up, and unique features from pre-treatment to the final result of the completed cases. During the past seven competitions, Iowa has captured 2nd, 1st, 1st, 1st, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd place wins over 200 competing cases from most of the residency programs from the US and North America. Following this unprecedented winning streak, the University of Iowa Orthodontics has won again, this year capturing ‘honorable mention’ in a cleft case supervised by Dr. Lina Moreno.
