The UI College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics held it’s annual All-College Conference on Aug. 19 in Galagan Auditorium. The event symbolically kicked off the 2024-25 academic year for the college.
Dean Stanford began by addressing the group of nearly 400 faculty, staff, and residents before a couple faculty presentations and the introduction of new hires and residents for the upcoming year.
The college honored faculty and staff for their dedication and service by recognizing significant years of service and presenting the Collegiate Teaching Award and James/Hermine McLeran Faculty Award.
The college also welcomed Iowa Women’s Wrestling head coach Clarissa Chun who spoke to the college about excellence and how to attain and retain excellence in your own discipline. She shared her background and how she got started in wrestling as a native Hawaiian and ended up in Iowa City.
