Orthodontics Specialty Program Class of 2026

We are very pleased to have our excellent five first-year residents (Class of 2026)!

Dr. Elaine Boosalis Toaddy is originally from Maple Grove, Minnesota. She received her DDS from the University of Iowa. She had served in the navy for the past 4 years before joining the residency program. Dr. Boosalis came back to Iowa City with her husband Andrew and two labrador retrievers, named Casey and Nyx. During her undergraduate, she swam for the University of Iowa.

 

Dr. Melika Farshad was born and raised in Shiraz, Iran. Dr. Farshad came to the U.S. and received her AEGD and DDS from New York University College of Dentistry. Before joining the residency, she had worked as an associate in the Clinic Admin Depart and Faculty General Practice at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Dr. Farshad likes baking and she has a French pastry certificate from a culinary school in Paris, France.

 

Dr. Sydney Sanchez hometown is Parkston, South Dakota. Dr. Sanchez received her DDS at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. She is with her husband Peter and a cat named Rocco. Dr. Sanchez and Peter love traveling. They recently rented a van and drove all over the places in Iceland for 2 weeks. 

 

Dr. Amanda Seaberg grew up in West Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Seaberg received her DDS at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Dr. Seaberg and her husband Nathan went to Drake University, where they were involved with athletic activities. They still enjoy running together and love spending time with their 10 nieces and nephews. 

 

Dr. Lyda Sypawka was originally from Greenville, North Carolina. She went to Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry for her dental education. Dr. Sypawka is with her fiancé Jack, and they are excited to spend two years in Iowa City. Dr. Sypawka has played the violin since she was 3 years old.
