Dr. Noor Asfar, second-year resident in the Department of Operative Dentistry, was named recipient of the 2026 Ralph Phillips Student Research Award by the Academy of Operative Dentistry. The award will support her research project entitled, "Effects of desensitizing agents on bond strength and surface chemical profiles of both sound and eroded dentin."

Asfar is mentored by Dr. Ariene Leme-Kraus.

In addition to receiving research and travel funds, Asfar is invited to present a table clinic to report her findings at the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Academy held in Chicago in February.
