Purpose

The purpose of the Pre-Dental Academy is to provide selected undergraduates a weekend long immersive experience under the mentorship of members of Iowa’s American Student Dental Association (IASDA). You are introduced to the field of dentistry and gain hands-on experience in the type of preclinical experiences encountered in dental school, attend presentations, and learn about the dental school admissions process.

  • Mock admissions interviews
  • Question-and-answer session with current dental students who will answer questions like "how to prepare for dental school applications" and "what is it like to attend dental school".

Financial Hardship

Applicants for whom payment of the fee presents a significant financial hardship may request a fee waiver via email to: iasda-summeracademy@uiowa.edu.
