Dr. Justine Kolker, DDS, MS, PhD
Class of 1996

Dr. Justine L. Kolker, DDS, MS, PhD is a Professor of Operative Dentistry and Professor of Dentistry Administration at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where she also serves as Director of Assessment and Evaluation. She earned her DDS, Certificate, MS in Operative Dentistry, and PhD in Oral Science from the University of Iowa, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Iowa State University.

Dr. Kolker is board-certified in both Dental Public Health and Operative Dentistry and is an active member of numerous national and international professional organizations, including the American Academy of Cariology and the American Association for Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Research. She has been recognized for her leadership and mentorship with honors such as the Fuller-Denehy Professorship in Operative Dentistry and the AADR Mentor of the Year award.

Dr. Matthew Geneser, DDS
Class of 2006

Dr. Matthew K. Geneser, DDS is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He earned his DDS and Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Iowa and completed his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at St. Joseph Hospital for Specialty Care.

Dr. Geneser is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and holds a dental license and moderate sedation permit in the State of Iowa. He is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and American Dental Education Association.

Recognized for excellence in teaching and service, Dr. Geneser has received multiple honors, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s Jerome B. Miller “For the Kids” Award and repeated selection as D3 Teacher of the Year at the University of Iowa. His scholarly work includes publications and presentations on pediatric oral health, caries management, and dental education, and he remains actively engaged in advancing clinical care and research in pediatric dentistry.

Sealed, but Still Sore: Unpacking Pain Following Root Canal Treatment
Dr. Alan Law, DDS, PhD, FICD, FACD
Class of 1991

Dr. Alan S. Law, DDS, PhD, FICD, FACD currently serves as a Research Professor in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Minnesota. He earned his DDS (1991) and Certificate in Endodontics (1995) from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, and later completed a PhD in Pharmacology at the University of Iowa, focusing on the mechanisms and modulation of orofacial pain.

Dr. Law is a past President of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Board of Endodontics, and the Minnesota Association of Endodontists, and currently serves as Director of the College of Diplomates for the American Board of Endodontics. He is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in endodontic pain, having authored numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed publications on dental pain, anxiety, and tissue regeneration. Dr. Law is a frequent invited speaker at universities and professional organizations and has presented extensively at national and international scientific meetings.

The College of Dentistry will make every reasonable effort to assure that requested continuing education programs are provided but assumes no liability for failure to deliver beyond the refunding of fees paid to the University of Iowa. The University of Iowa reserves the right to limit registration to the size of the available classroom or clinical space. Sponsorship of this course does not imply subject matter, product, or technical endorsement.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS: Fees paid will be refunded less a $45 per person processing fee following notice of cancellation. Refunds will not be granted for cancellations received after the course begins.
