Trishul Allareddy (’09 MS), professor in the Department of Oral Pathology, Radiology, and Medicine, was named the Department Executive Officer of his department in 2021.
Allareddy earned a Bachelor of Dental Science degree from Ragas Dental College and Hospitals (2002) before completing a certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (2007) and M.S. in Stomatology with an emphasis in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (2009) at the University of Iowa. Allareddy began as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Radiology in 2009 and joined the faculty at the College of Dentistry as a clinical associate professor in 2012. He became the program director for Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in 2014, became a clinical professor in 2015, and then a professor in 2020.
Allareddy is an established expert and leader in the field of oral and maxillofacial radiology. Allareddy is a leader and key player in identifying and determining standards for the discipline of oral and maxillofacial radiology, and an expert in the use and analysis of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT).
In addition to his numerous publications, Allareddy also lends his expertise as a co-investigator for numerous grants from the National Institutes of Health, various professional associations, and industry.
Allareddy is also a respected teacher and mentor, serving students on thesis committees for oral radiology, other dental specialties, and for the Dental Student Research Program.
