In particular, the researchers will be evaluating Super Seal, a dental desensitizer product from Phoenix Dental, Inc., containing oxalic acid, potassium salt dihydrate. The product is applied to sensitive teeth to treat dentinal hypersensitivity. This study will test if changes to the product’s formula, that are aimed at improving its shelf-life and handling, will maintain the sealing properties of the product. The researchers are also investigating a new method of application.

The College of Dentistry is excited to partner with industry leaders both to meet the needs of industry and to improve clinical practice.

Erica Teixeira is a coinvestigator with Leme Kraus and Vargas on the project.
