The term “seven-year itch” is a belief that after a certain amount of time – usually about 7 years – there is a psychological need to change or do something new. After nearly seven years of not producing a Dental Public Health Alumni Newsletter, there is now a definite ‘itch’ to once again send out an annual newsletter. So, for the first time since 2015, we have a DPH Alumni Newsletter for your reading enjoyment.
I have no excuses, as plenty has happened over the past few years. For starters, we’ve had 17 students complete the MS program since our last newsletter, and an additional 5 students complete the PhD program. I won’t list them all here, but a list of all graduates can be found on the program’s website: Program Alumni
In addition, a few program faculty have departed, while others have arrived, and there have been at least a couple who have done both (arrived and departed, or departed and come back). There have been new students, new grants, new office furnishings, and a new Dean of the College of Dentistry. Oh, and there has been this pandemic the last couple of years – maybe you’ve heard about it.
We’ve got a lot of catching up to do, so I will dispense with any profound wisdom – or a weather report – you’ll have to wait until the next newsletter for that. Now, on to the news:
