Dr. Waheed Awotoye is originally from Lagos, Nigeria. He received his BDS at the University of Lagos and a PhD at the University of Iowa (Dr. Azeez Butali’s Lab). He lives with his wife, Faridat, and two daughters Zaynab (2 years) and Zafreen (9 months). Waheed loves playing and watching soccer!
Dr. Benjamin Bouchard’s hometown is Spruce, Michigan. He went to Michigan State University for his Undergraduate. He received his DDS at the University of Michigan. He lives with his wife, Vina. Recently, he tried durian (a divisive food because of its strong smell and great taste) and he actually liked it!
Dr. Larkin Jacobson grew up in Sioux City, Iowa. He went to the University of Denver for his Undergraduate. He received his DDS from the University of Iowa. He lives with his wife, Mackenzie, his daughter Vivienne, and his dog Koda. He played Division I ice hockey during his undergraduate years.
Dr. Kathryn Jehle is originally from Overland Park, Kansas, and went to the University of Kansas (undergraduate) and the University of Missouri Kansas City (dental school). Her parents and 2 brothers live in Kansas and one sister’s family lives in Dallas. She enjoys cooking and has an Instagram where she posts her own recipes.
Dr. Abigail Simmer’s hometown is Rock Island, Illinois. She went to Augustana College (undergraduate) and received her DDS from the University of Iowa. She lives with her husband, Austin, and her two cats (Cleo and Oscar). In her spare time, she enjoys pottery and wheel throwing.
All our first-year residents have had a very busy summer since they joined in July this year. We are thrilled to work with them for the next two years, which will go very fast!! Please join us in welcoming our first-year residents!
ABO-Board Certification Update
Drs. Jacqueline Crawford, Jayne Kessel, and Aden Peterson (Class of 2022) successfully passed the ABO clinical exam and became diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO). Very well done and we are so proud of you!
