The 28th Annual Hinman Student Research Symposium was held Nov. 10-12, 2023 in Memphis, Tennessee. The Symposium featured oral and poster presentations of research projects by dental students and graduate trainees from dental schools across North America and Canada. From among the 101 presentations, thirteen awards were given for the most outstanding student presentations. One of the Basic and Translational Research Awards was won by third-year DDS/PhD student Michael Chavez.  His project “Exogenous Bone Sialoprotein Enhances Alveolar Bone Healing in Mice” was directed Brian Foster, associate professor in the Division of Biosciences at The Ohio State University.
