Dr. Christopher Kepros, clinical assistant professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, has been appointed to the 2025-2026 Examination Committee for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). This prestigious appointment recognizes the significant contributions and expertise of Kepros in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS).

Members of the ABOMS Examination Committee are tasked with numerous responsibilities integral to the board certification process. In addition to serving as an examiner, he will prepare cases for the Oral Certifying Examination (OCE) and submit examination items for both the Qualifying Examination (QE) and the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery In-service Training Examination (OMSITE).

Selection to the ABOMS Examination Committee is highly selective, reserved for those demonstrating exceptional skills and dedication to advancing the specialty. ABOMS maintains rigorous standards for certification and re-certification, ensuring optimal patient care and safety.

Kepros was appointed by the ABOMS Board of Directors during their annual spring meeting. His appointment highlights his ongoing commitment to excellence in oral and maxillofacial surgery, and his dedication to maintaining the highest professional standards in the specialty.

Kepros joins UI colleagues Dr. Douglas Kendrick and Dr. Steve Fletcher on the committee.
