Dr. Doug Kendrick and Dr. Arshi Munjal, providers in the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics’ Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, have been named recipients of the 2026 Top 10% Outpatient Providers Patient’s Choice Award by the UI Health Care Office of the Patient Experience. Kendrick and Munjal were recognized among outpatient providers whose patient experience scores ranked in the top 10% nationally. 

The Patient’s Choice Awards are based on feedback collected directly from patients through medical practice surveys. To be eligible for the 2026 recognition, providers were required to receive at least 30 completed surveys during fiscal year 2026. 

Recognition is determined by patient responses to five areas of the care provider experience, including the concern providers show for patients’ questions or worries, how well they explain a patient’s condition, efforts to include patients in decisions about their care, discussions of treatment options, risks and benefits, and whether patients would recommend the provider to others. 

Both graduates of the College of Dentistry, Kendrick ('10 DDS, '11 R) and Munjal ('24 DDS) were both included among the 2026 award recipients representing Hospital Dentistry.
