Position Details:

The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry is conducting a search for a full-time Clinical or Tenure-track faculty in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry



Major responsibilities: 




  • clinical and didactic instruction at pre-doctoral and post-doctoral levels;

  • participation in the departmental intra-mural faculty practice plan;

  • scholarly activities; and

  • collaboration with faculty from other departments/colleges. 



Tenure-track faculty will also conduct oral science research, and complete grant applications.

Position Details:

The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry is conducting a search for a full-time Assistant Dean for Student Affairs - Clinical or Tenure-track Faculty in Dental Administration.  



Major responsibilities include: 




  • Provide leadership in admissions and financial aid processes, enrollment management, student life, academic support, career advising, accreditation, and compliance.

  • Oversee the recruitment, engagement, progression, retention, and support of dental students by promoting academic, social, mental, physical, and emotional well-being.

  • Enhance the educational services and experience to ensure student-centered success.

  • Monitor and analyze student data and trends both internally and externally to inform programming service levels/need and effectively manage resources.

  • Serve as a student advocate, investigate and resolve student concerns, conflicts, or complaints.

  • Implement student conduct and professionalism guidelines in collaboration with academic and clinical leadership.

  • Manage student accommodation requests through iterative process.

  • Liaise with university officials, national dental education organizations, and state-wide dental professional community.

  • Serve on collegiate and university committees representing the student voice in policy making and administrative management.

  • Manage operational budget, including student scholarships and resource allocation.

  • Oversee planning and programming for meeting and events, including but not limited to student orientation, White Coat ceremony, commencement, and awards ceremonies.

  • Supervise and support student organizations to foster student engagement.

  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality regulations, including FERPA and institutional privacy policies, in all student affairs operations.

  • Supervise and mentor student affairs staff and teams to support operational excellence.

The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry is conducting a search for a full-time Clinical-track Faculty in Clinic Administration



Major responsibilities include:




  • didactic/clinical instruction of pre-doctoral students in the Admissions Clinic, including management of urgent care patients;

  • screening and routing of patients in Admissions Clinic;

  • oversight of students performing comprehensive examinations and fabricating treatment plans in the Oral Diagnosis clinic;

  • providing hygiene checks in Faculty General Practice clinic;

  • providing urgent care including extraction and root canal therapy; and

  • active participation in the department faculty practice plan.
