Each year, second-year dental students select faculty and residents for their work as teachers over the course of the D2 curriculum.

Second-year dental students with faculty and residents of the year

Their comments about the recipients are included below:

Nidhi Handoo, clinical associate professor in oral pathology, radiology, and medicine: The first time Dr. Handoo talked to us was about a year ago at our white coat ceremony. Little did we know how much she would mean to us a year later. We always looked forward to Wednesday lectures when you always treat us with, "How are you all doing? Who's birthday is it?" The adjectives our class used to describe you were: "caring, dedicated, selfless, inspiring, empathetic, fun and Just simply the best.

Salah Abuhammoud, assistant professor of prosthodontics: We can't thank you enough for all the late nights you spent making pros videos for us. We asked our class to use adjectives to describe you as a faculty and they responded with "Brilliant, giving, sincere, hard working, outstanding, and THE GOAT."

Derrick Bisnett, graduate researcher and resident in oral pathology, radiology, and medicine: We will always remember and be thankful for our Radiology clinic days with Dr. Derrick. He helped us connect and implement what we learned in various classes to real life scenarios. When we asked our class to give us some adjectives to describe you as a resident they said Intelligent, honest, chill, beneficial, understanding and funny.

Veronica Sule: It was always a good day when you walked into clinic and saw your faculty for the day was Dr. Sule. Thank you for always pushing us to try something new but still helping us along the way. Some adjectives that our class used to describe you as a resident were: positive, nurturing, empathetic, wonderful helper, joyful and passionate!

The second-year dental students "loved getting to work with each of you and cannot wait to continue learning and working with you next year."
