The University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics has named Dr. Ahmad Alkhaza'leh graduate program director for the Advanced Education Program in Operative Dentistry, effective Aug. 3, 2026.

Alkhaza'leh, a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Operative Dentistry, brings nearly 10 years of experience in operative dentistry, clinical practice, research, and academic teaching. In his new role, he will lead the college's graduate program in operative dentistry, overseeing resident education, curriculum development, and program advancement.

Throughout his career, Alkhaza'leh has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in patient care, resident education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and educational innovation. His experience in clinical instruction and scholarship positions him to guide the continued growth and success of the Advanced Education Program in Operative Dentistry.

Alkhaza'leh earned his Certificate in Operative Dentistry and Master of Science in Oral Science from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics after completing his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the Jordan University of Science and Technology Faculty of Dentistry in Irbid, Jordan.

An active researcher and educator, Alkhaza'leh has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications focused on restorative and esthetic dentistry, dental materials, and adhesive technologies. His research has been recognized by several national and international organizations, including the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and the International Academy of Adhesive Dentistry.

His professional accomplishments include earning diplomate status from the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry and the American Board of General Dentistry, fellowship in the International College of Dentists, and selection to the American Dental Education Association's Emerging Leaders Program. He is also an active member of several national and international professional organizations dedicated to advancing dental education, research, and clinical care.
