Dr. Mandy Mohan, clinical associate professor in the University of Iowa College of Dentistry Department of Prosthodontics, has been named director of the D3 Prosthodontics Clerkship.

Mohan joined the College of Dentistry in October 2024 and has contributed to several areas within the department, including the D3 Prosthodontics Clinic and Graduate Prosthodontics Clinic.

She brings nearly 20 years of clinical experience and 18 years of teaching experience in India, Malaysia, and Iowa. Before joining Iowa, Mohan served on the prosthodontics faculty at Manipal University in India from 2007 to 2011 and at International Medical University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 2011 to 2023.

Mohan earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Master of Dental Surgery in Prosthodontics from Manipal University and completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Iowa. She also holds postgraduate diplomas in health professions education and hospital and health management.

Her clinical and academic experience includes implant dentistry, maxillofacial prosthetics, care of geriatric and medically compromised patients, research, and development of prosthodontic curricula for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. She has also received recognition for her work in health professions education and educational innovation.

In her new role, Mohan will provide leadership for the D3 Prosthodontics Clerkship and support the continued development of the program and its students.

Mohan succeeds Dr. Joseph Curtis, who served as director of the D3 Prosthodontics Clerkship for the past two years. The college thanks Curtis for his dedication and contributions to students, faculty, and the program during his tenure.
