Live Demonstration Course: Basic Life Support (BLS) Recertification
This course qualifies the enrollee a certification by the American Heart Association for Basic Life Support (BLS), upon successful demonstration and exam and the cost is $70 (College of Dentistry staff) or $80 (general public).
Course Registration:
Classes are limited to 10 participants. Please select another class if you find that you cannot register for your selected date and time.

For Iowa dental students, their fourth-year curriculum simulates aspects of a private practice environment. This experience successfully prepares Iowa graduates to practice dentistry independently. The approximately thirty adjunct faculty in Family Dentistry are the engine for Iowa’s success. These faculty members mentor fourth-year students as they go from novice clinical beginners to competent and independent clinicians.

Iowa Dentistry Faculty Receive Industry Grant for Restorative Dental Materials Research

A German Pharmaceutical company awarded Ariene Leme-Kraus and Erica Teixeira a $10,000 grant for their project investigating the effectiveness of a newly developed glass-ionomer dental material. In particular, the project will evaluate whether this novel dental material can effectively be used to treat root tooth decay.
