The Power of the Possible

Clark Stanford

Today I had my first opportunity to participate in the fall football tradition—tailgating at the university. While I have been away a while, it was enjoyable to talk with so many alumni; to hear their stories, to hear where their families are at in their lives, and to hear about all their activities which are inspirational. I am truly grateful to hear how they reflect on their experiences with the College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics. The impact is amazing. I reflect too since this year marked my 35th year dental class reunion. Thirty-five years have gone by in a snap of a finger. I have been thrilled by my return to your college.

...

There is yet much to do. There are many opportunities and avenues to improve your College of Dentistry though your partnerships with the college. Your college and university have many strengths that demonstrate the power of the possible. The comprehensive nature of the college complements the same features of the university…comprehensive, with no one unit dominating the others. And yet, the campus is small enough you can walk to your next meeting. Yes, Iowa is a very special place. There is a lot to be proud of your College of Dentistry! You can go home.

Warmest Regards,

Clark Stanford DDS, PhD, MHA
