The American Academy of Cariology (AAC) held its 6th Annual Conference, "Caries Prevention in a Modern World: Infants, Children, Adolescents and Special Health Care Needs Population," in conjunction with the annual meeting of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. The meeting was held at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina Hotel on May 25, 2022. 

During the meeting, Sandra Guzman-Armstrong, clinical professor of operative dentistry, was elected as the new president of the AAC.

And three faculty members gave research presentations, including:

Teresa Marshall, professor of preventive and community dentistry

“Dietary Assessment and Counselling for Caries Prevention – What is the Evidence?”

Karen Baker, associate professor in oral pathology, radiology, and medicine
“Drug-Related Caries in Children: Prevention and Treatment"
