In-Person Visit Options
The best way to know if a dental school is for you is simply by visiting there. Visit and find out for yourself everything Iowa has to offer you!
Meet with a member of our admissions team followed by a student-led tour of the College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics to learn more about our Doctoral of Dental Surgery (DDS) program.
Enjoy a campus visit designed especially for high school students hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. When selecting a date, be sure to ask for a tour of the College of Dentistry.
Dentistry is an exciting career and offers many unique opportunities to treat and engage with patients. The College of Dentistry welcomes school groups to learn the importance of maintaining oral health, and an exploration of the dental profession as a possible future career opportunity. All presentations are interactive and age appropriate.
Group visits are designed for student groups of 10-40, accompanied by adult chaperones.

Virtual Info Sessions
Attend a 50-minute virtual information session to learn about preparing and applying to dental school. Sessions also include a Q&A for participants to ask any questions.

Summer Program Options
To explore dental school and all it entails, check out the University of Iowa College of Dentistry's summer programs. If you have questions about a program, contact the corresponding unit for more info.
The Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) at the University of Iowa is a free, six-week summer program for undergraduate students interested in health professional careers. Students who complete our program are guaranteed an admissions interview at the College of Dentistry.
Participants are engaged in challenging and informative hands-on dental experiences. The Pre-Dental Academy is a weekend long interactive event that affords each participant exposure to various aspects of dentistry.
